He married Elizabeth 27 AUG 1783 in Surry County, North Carolina. She was born ABT. 1761 in Surry County, North Carolina, and died 4 JUN 1847 in Greene County, Tennessee. 1.   iii. Jacob Carter was born 1756.     iv. Daniel Carter was born 1758.     v. Eleanor Carter was born ABT. 1759.     vi. Dorothy Carter was born ABT. 1762.     vii. James Carter was born 1768.     viii. Rebecca Carter was born 1770, and died BET. 1820 - 1830 in Greene County, Tennessee. She married John Hardin, son of Joseph Hardin. He was born 22 JAN 1763, and died 22 SEP 1788 in Killed on Lookout Mountain in the Cherokee Wars. She married John Harvey Ross , Sr. 8 JAN 1794 in Greene County, Tennessee, son of William Ross I and Jane Allison. He was born BET. 1771 - 1772 in Virginia, and died 10 APR 1848 in Greene County, Tennessee.
