The Sydney Morning Herald - Wednesday 24 May 1899. DEATH OF ALDERMAN ROBERT ANDERSON - The death is announced of Alderman Robert Anderson, one of the municipal representatives of the Kingston Ward in the borough of Camperdown. Mr Anderson, who was one of the oldest residents of that district, for many years successfully carried on the occupation of a builder and contractor. Some few years ago he ceased following his calling, and lived up to the time of his death a retired life. At the municipal elections in February last Mr Anderson was returned as an alderman to the borough council of Camperdown. He was a man of robust health, and on Saturday last was about as usual. On Sunday he was seized with a sudden illnes, and despite the efforts of his medical advisor, died on Monday afternoon at the age of 67 years.
