    William was known as "Deacon" on his tomb-stone in Staples St. Cemetery, Taunton, the name is "HOARD" but he uses the form "HOAR" in all of his many deeds. The Staples St. cemetery was erected by a reservation in his deed of 1745 of the old homestead as a "burying place for him and his family; and was used as recently as 1854 for the interment of Katherine, wife of his son William. He conveyed his homestead in Middleboro, where he lived, to his son William in 1784; and other proper
