The Staples St. cemetery was erected by a reservation in his deed of 1745 of the old homestead as a "burying place for him and his family; and was used as recently as 1854 for the interment of Katherine, wife of his son William. He conveyed his homestead in Middleboro, where he lived, to his son William in 1784; and other proper ty to his son Luther in 1790.
