    MRS. JOHN CARNILL.
    Emma House Carnill, daughter of Milt [Milton] and Isabelle [Isabell] Glo re House was born in the Germania neighborhood, near Bonne Terre, Mo., Ju ne 20, 1877, and passed away in River Rouge, Mich., May 28, 1929, ag ed 51 years 11 months and 8 days. On the 17th day of July, 1897, she was u nited in marriage to John A. Carnill also of the Germania settlement. To t his union ten children were born, all of whom with the husband and fath er survive. They are Lucy (Mrs. Elza Burgess) of Sprott, Mo., Gertrude (Mr s. Charles Archambo) of Farmington, Mo., Arthur, Lydia (Mrs. Elmer Covingt on), Raymond, Edmund, John, Jr., Bessie, Maude and Thomas, all of River Ro uge. Also four sisters, Mrs. Richard House, Mrs. Harvey Straughn, Mrs. Fri tz Bockenkamp, all of Bonne Terre and five brothers, Albert, Frank, Jos h, Melvin and Ben House of Bonne Terre. Mrs. Carnill also took into her ho me her niece, Jean Carnill, now Mrs. Fred Stange of Elvins, while she w as an infant. She also took into her home seven years ago her two grandchi ldren, John Thomas and Mildred Carnill, whom she lovingly cared for. She h ad always made her home in St. Francois County until two years ago when s he with her husband and children moved to River Rouge to reside.

    She was converted many years ago at the Hunt School house during the Spar ks and Smith revival and soon afterwards united with the Germania Bapti st church and after moving to River Rouge she with her husband and the eig ht children and two grandchildren united with the Jefferson Christian chur ch of which she was a faithful member. Her body was brought to Elvins la st Thursday to the home of her niece, Mrs. Stange. Funeral services were h eld in the Baptist Church at Esther on Friday by the pastor, Rev. Presse r, assisted by Rev. Liddell, pastor of the Elvins Baptist Church. John Boy er, of Leadwood, a life long friend of the departed one, paid her a beauti ful tribute at the grave. She was laid to rest in Woodlawn cemetery.
