Duncan T. McMillan, born at Cumberland, Ont., Dec. 29th, 1845, and a resident of the city o f Munising for the past 22 years, died Saturday afternoon at Munising hospital following a br ief illness, the direct cause of death resulting from pneumonia. The news of his death cam e as a great shock to the people of Munising, as but a few days before he was about town in a pparent good health. He had been a devoted husband and a kind and indulgent father, to his f riends the sould of fellowship. But greatest of all, he was a man. And as a man it is tha t those who knew him best must love to contemplate him. The funeral services were held fro m the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Maltas of St. John's Episcopal church payin g a beautiful tribute to the memory of the deceased. The casket was covered with the most be autiful floral designs loving fingers ever wrought, all of which spoke of peace, purity and i mmortality. At the close of the services an unusally long procession followed the funeral ca r to our silent city. The following children are left to mourn his loss and to whom the symp athy of all is extended: Mrs. F. J. Frasier, Waldo, Wis.; Hugh McMillan, Munising; Walter C. , Seattle, Wash.; Thos A., Munising; Sam D., Duluth, Minn., all of whom were here for the obs equies except Walter of Seattle.
