Name: Alexander OLIVER
Oliver Message Board on RootsWeb 3 Dec 2011
Birth: 1736 in Ireland
Death: 1816 in Anderson Co, SC
In Pickens Cemetery, Anderson Co, SC is Rev War Vet Alexander Oliver, next to his wife (Mary Slaughter? Warner?). The only child I know of is Dr. James Oliver, b 1780, d. Nov 10, 1837; m. Martha Leech (1790-1877).
I'm looking for info on Alexander and Mary and their family, etc etc for a cemetery directory. There are some children, mostly infants from James/Martha also buried there, and one dau m. John W. Rosamond, and this thread is also buried there.
Any info will be greatly appreciated and credited, of course. If I have anything on any one in the cemetery, I am more than happy to share.

From The Bowen's of George's Creek by John McGowna Bowen, Sr.
Dr. James Oliver, born in Ireland, was the son of Alexander Oliver (born 1736, died in 1816), who was a private in the South Carolina Militia and was wounded at the battle of Cowpens in the American Revolution. He was married to Mary Slaughter.
does this pertain to him?
