Subject: Ahnawake MONK SACKETT
I am trying to locate any information about my cousin, Ahnawake.
She was the daughter of Georgianne Wilbanks Monk Evins and Walter Monk.
She was born in 1926 in Amarillo, Texas and died in 1989 in Denison, Texas.
She is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Denison, Grayson County, Texas.

Ahnawake was the daughter of Georgianne Ghormley (not Wilbanks) Monk Evins and Walter Monk.
Her maternal grandmother was Lillie Blanche Wilbanks Ghormley Wilson, and her maternal grandfather was Michael Abram Ghormley.

I accidentally came across your site information when seeking information on Ahnawake, my cousin. Ahnawake's mother was the sister of my father.

Is the family Davis in this file the family of Nancy Davis the Indian woman? Also I found in a census that in the 1930 census that Ahnawake has a brother Billie Monk born in 1924. On ancestry.com in the 1930 census they lived in California.

Her reply: My name is Nana Smith first a in Nana is long . I am 64 years old and one daughter. I live in Des Moines, Iowa. NOTE -- I still don't know her connection to Wilbanks.

I talked to Georgia ann leach she is the daughter of ahnawake monk who maried william Higdon then and then ahnawake married mr ray who is the father of billie and lillie marion . she married a crabtree she died three years ago and is buried in the oakwood cem in Denison. Georia the grandmother married joe H Evins who adpoted the three kids .Ahnwake married James Sackett

Lillie marion married a crabtree and she died of copd three years agon and her half sister georgia ann higdon had a storke, still alive and lives in dension texas. I am working on finding mr ray first name he was the father of billie and lillie marion.

Ahnawake Sackett was born 12 Nov 1926 in Amarillo to Mr. & Mrs. Walter Monk.
She married Jimmy Sackett in Jan 1957 at Dallas
She was 62 years old when she died.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Her three surviving daughters were Georgia Leach, Marion Evins, and Nona Bledsoe (Nona is news to me.)
She had 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren
