    Educator died at 83

    Harry C. Thomas, 83, Gower, died at a Gower convalescent center this morning.
    Born in Buchanan county, Mr. Thomas was an educator for 40 years before retiring in 1959. He had served in various schools in Missouri, holding the post of superintendent of schools at Agency, Stewartsville and Grayson. Mr. Thomas was affiliated with a number of educational organizations.
    A 50-year Mason, he was a member of the Gower Masonic Lodge and also a member of the Gower Christian Church.
    Surviving are his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Anna Long, Larchmont, N. Y.; a sister, Mrs. Ora Lashier, Garden City, Kan., and two granddaughters.
    The body is at the Hixson funeral home is Gower.
