  • Note: William Wagner was born about 1805 on Indian Creek of Barren County, Kentucky and moved to Franklin County, Tennessee in 1807 with his parents Solomon and Dicey Russell Wagner and Grandparents Major William [1763-1825] and Agnes Russell. After he married Juliann Embrey he resided in Hardeman County, Tennessee where four daughters were born Julia Ann Wagner Basham, Isabella Wagner Winn, Elizabeth Wagner Couch and Dicey Wagner Basham. William moved to Tippah County Mississippi where four sons were born Solomon, William Russell, Murry Embrey and John A Wagner. William Wagner moved to Jasper County, Missouri then to Crawford County, Arkansas. In 1854 he settled on the Old home place. After the death of his first wife Juliann he married Elizabeth Coop of Bedford County, Tennessee in Bell County, Texas. William mustered in the Civil War and died in 1862 leaving Elizabeth to rear two minor sons James William and Jefferson Davis Wagner on the Texas Frontier.--Richard Wagner, richard1776@sbcglobal.net
