    Amanda Lou Wehrkamp, 84, St. Joseph, Mo., passed away Monday, April 19, 2004, at a local health-care center.

    Mrs. Wehrkamp worked for Mead Products for 11 years.

    She was born May 10, 1919, in Burlington Junction, Mo., to Jesse Richard and Viola Vennice (Deatherage) Thacker.

    She married Robert H. Wehrkamp. He preceded her in death in June of 1977.

    She also was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bernard (Raymond) Hughes; sister, Kathleen Plummer; and two brothers, Joseph L. and John Thacker.

    She was a member of the Orchid Christian Church in Union Star, Mo.

    Survivors: two sons, Larry G. Arnold, St. Joseph; and James. R. Arnold, Savannah, Mo.; two daughters, Carol Simmons, Des Moines, Iowa; and Connie L. Weller, Enterprise, Ala.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

    Service: 1 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service, St. Joseph. Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Bedford, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service, where friends may call after 8 a.m. Thursday. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Show Me Christian Youth Home, 24302 Mahim Road, P.O. Box 6, La Monte, Mo.
