A number of the Violets worked for George Washington and Edward Sr. was an overseer on the Muddy hole Farm starting about 1760 to his death in 1773. An Edward (probably Jr.) contracted with George Washington in 1762 to run the Bullskin lands of GW. Bullskin land was in Fredrick County (then) now in West Virginia, just a few miles from where Edward Jr. is buried.
