      p.m. at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center. He was born October 25, 1930 to Albert J. and Bridget Delia
      (Mannion) Vielhaber in Kent, OH.
      He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Jeanette M. (Taylor) Vielhaber, they were married on December
      30, 1950 at St. Vincent Catholic Church, Akron, OH; one daughter, Susan (Alan) Graf, Memphis, TN; four
      sons, Richard (Marianna), Findlay; Larry (Martha) Tomball, TX; John (Marina), Findlay; Edward, Findlay, 13
      grandchildren: Elizabeth Guthrie (Chad); Laura Lane (Jason); Andrea; Deirdre; Bridget; Carrie; David;
      Michael; Daniel; Natalie; Jennifer; Lauren; and Elliot Smith; and 2 great-grandchildren: Grant and Elizabeth
      Lane. Also surviving is one brother, Edward (Jackie), Akron; one sister, Mary Jean (Robert) Brunton, Cuyahoga
      Falls; sister-in-law, Patricia, widow of David; and sister-in-law, Betty, widow of Albert Jr.; as well as many
      nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings: William; Lucy Vielhaber; Margaret Vielhaber;
      David; and Albert Jr.
      He was a twelve year graduate of St. Vincent High School, Akron, OH. He attended Akron University. In 1955,
      he was hired by Cooper Tire & Rubber Company as a territory salesman. In 1957, he was promoted to Branch
      Manager; in 1969, he became Cooper Branch Sales Manager, then Private Brand Sales Manager. In 1973, he
      was promoted to Oil Company Sales Manager. He completed the Bowling Green State University Advanced
      Management Program in 1978. In 1983, he was announced Vice President of Oil Company Sales where he held
      that position until he retired on July 26, 1991.
      He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, The Findlay Country Club (where he was known as the
      world's greatest putter), The Pits Rod and Gun Club, served one term as the 6th Ward Councilman from 1994-
      1995. He was instrumental in developing The Handicapped Society of Hancock County as a result of his
      involvement with Easter Seals. He was currently an Honorary Member of the Handicapped Society of Hancock
      County. He has also been very active in the Julie Cole Charity Golf Tournament since its inception. He was also
      very involved in the 1970's with ACLD (Association for Children with Learning Disabilities). He was their
      official spokesman. Through his efforts and that of the Association, learning disabled and handicapped classes
      were incorporated into Findlay City Schools.
      Visitation will be held Monday, September 13, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home. A
      Rosary will be recited at 8:45 p.m. on Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael's (Bright
      Rd.) on Tuesday, September 14, at 11 a.m.Memorials may be made to The Handicapped Society of Hancock County, P.O. Box 702, Findlay, OH 45839.
