    Obituary: Rufus Haggard Pitts was born Aug. 21, 1877 in Fayetteville, Tenn. and died Dec. 8, at his home in Oklahoma City, 1925 E 23rd st. At the age of 16 he joined the Methodish church at Beach Grove, Tenn.

    In 1896 he was united in marriage to Nama Moyers, and to this union three children were gorn, namely Lula Stigier, of Frederick, Harvey, of Nashville, Tenn., and Lucy at home address.

    In 1900 he moved with his family to Vuster co., Okla., and resided on a farm south of Custer until 1905. At that time he moved to Custer an was a partner of his brother J. B. Pitts in the hardware store of Pitts Bros. His brother, whom every one in Custer knew, preceded him in death three years ago.

    In 1902 he joined the Baptist church in Custer, later transferring to the First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. There he was an active member in the church and Sunday school, with Josh Lee as his S. S. teacher.

    In 1917 his wife died and was buried at Mt. Hope.

    In 1920 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Willie Wray, of Knoxville, Tenn., and to this union one child, Mary Eileen was born.

    He is survived by hsi wife, four children - Mrs. W> H. Stigler, Harvey, Lucy and Maro Eileen, two step-sisters, Mrs S. C. Leitner, Weatherford, Okla. and Mrs. W. T. Daves, Indianapolis, Okla., and a large group of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

    The funeral services were held in Oklahoma City at 9 AM and at Custer at 1PM. Monday the 10th. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

    Those who attended the funeral from Frederick were Lucille Stigler, M. Walton Stigler, Mrs. J. G. Hadger, Mrs. L. M. Wagnon, Mrs. M. E. Hoyle, Mts. Arthur Cooper, Jr. Mrs. Tom Manning.

    Those present from Wetherford were Mrs. Lena Hill, Irene Leitner, Mrs. S. C. Leitner, and from Indianapolis Mrs. W. T. Daves.

    Those from Oklahoma City: Mrs. J. B. Pitts and son Joel, Mrs. W. B. Clayton, Mrs. Lynn Saylor, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin C. Ashby.
