      Text: Obituary of Dr. Jesse Little and Memoir

      Dr. Jesse S. Little, practioner of Medicine in Minco, Okla., for 30 years, was forn in Fayetteville, Tenn, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Haggard.

      He was educated at Fayetteville Collegate Institute, the University of Tennessee Medical Department, Kansas City Medical School, Ft. Worth Medical School, Memphis Hospital Medical College. He obtained his MD degree in 1903. He did post graduate work in Tulane U, Chicago Post Graduate School of Medicine and New York Polly Clinic.

      He began the practice of medcine in Custer City, Okla., in the early part of 1903, and located in Minco, October 1, 1903.

      He is ex-mayor of Minco, ex-councilman, past master of Minco Masonic Lodge, Past Patron of OEs, Past Commander of the American Legion in Minco, Past 6th Dist. Chairman SAL, Past County Commander of American Legion,Past President Chamber of Commerce of Minco, President of the First National Bank of Minco, past President of the Scottish Rite of Grady County.

      He volunteered for service in World War No 1 in July 1918 and was given a Captain's commission in the medical corps, and reported for service at Camp Dodge, IA. He worked a while and served as commanding officier of the camp Infirmary. Later he was on detached service examined recruits at Indianapolis, Ind, for the State. He was discharged from government service 1920.

      His hobby was golf.

      He was married to Miss Annie Lou Dooley in 1902.

      Dr. Little departed from this life from his home in Minco, Monday morning, January 18, 1943.While he had been in ill health for several years , his going was sudden and unexpected. He is survived by his wife; one brother, J. L. Little of Custer City, Okla.; one half brother, Dr. Aaron Little of Minco, and one half sister, Mrs Hellen Scott of Skellytown, Texas, stepmother, Mrs S. H. Little of Minco.

      He was baptized into the Christian church in 1914. A good and useful man has gone from us, but his memory will remain forever with the many of those who have been recipients of his professional, business, and personal benefactions. He was always of a cheerful disposition in spite of his physical conditions, and to be in his company was to inspire one on departing to look on the brighter side of life. Well done,good and faithful servant, inter into the joys of thy Lord.

      Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery.
