At the close of the war he married, and lived in IA until 1879, when he moved to Mitchell Co., Kansas. In 1879 he married Sarah Smith, who preceded him to the spirit world about five years ago. Mr. Trent was the father of nine children, eight of whom survive him. From 1892 to 1897,
Mr Trent was in the grocery business in St. Francis, KS after which time, moved to his farm three miles northeast of town, where he lived till his death.
