Helen was fond of classical music and literature, and fluent in English, French, Russian and German. She began work in Andre Charlot's revues, and became one of C.B. Cochran's 'Young Ladies'. She was also selected as tutor to Mme Yvette la Brousse who was soon to become the Begum Aga Khan. She was previously married, but her husband deserted her.
Violette Helen BECK, born 8 February 1905, actress, won an actress beauty contest, died in Whitstable, Kent 14 January 1971. – Married in Kensington, London 10 March 1942 to film and television actor Peter Wilton CUSHING, born in Kenley, Surrey 26 May 1913, acting in Dracula and Frankenstein horror films, died in Canterbury, Kent 11 August 1994. No children. Peter Wilton CUSHING was a son of George Edward CUSHING, born in London 1 July 1881, quality surveyor, died in Rustington, Surrey 1 November 1956, and Nellie Marie KING, born unknown where 6 March 1882, died in Redhill, Surrey 22 March 1961.
