    Mrs. Nancy A. Cushing, 82, of 518 South St., widow of Albert B. Cushing, and a lifelong resident here, died at Putnam Memorial Hospital Wednesday afternoon after a long illness.
    Born in Bennington July 26, 1890, she was the daughter of James and Katherine (Lynch) Toomey. She had attended local schools and in earlier years had been employed at the old Cooper Needle Shop and the Bradford Textile Mill. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Church.
    She was married to Mr. Cushing Sept 14, 1913 in the old Catholic Church, which is now the Bennington Museum. Mr. Cushing died July 27, 1927.
    Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Catherine M. Blanchard, Mrs. Georgianna Lange, Mrs. Mary Ann Clifford and Mrs. Howard (Helen) Goodrich, all of Bennington; three sons, Albert B. and George J. Cushing, both of Bennington, Joseph E. Cushing of Somerville, N.J.; 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, James of Albany, N.Y. and Joseph Toomey of Somerville, N.J.; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Whitman of Windsor, Conn.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    The funeral will be held at Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday at 11 am with a prayer and in St. Francis de Sales Church at 11:30 where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered.
    Calling hours at the funeral home are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Wake service will be tonight at 8. Burial will be in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
    If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to either the Bennington Rescue Squad or to Putnam Memorial Hospital through the funeral home offices.
