Hazel M. Cushing Matthews of Middletown, N.Y., a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, died Monday, April 17, 1995, at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.. She was 81. The daughter of the late Albert and Katherine Hall Cushing. She was born July 11, 1913, in New Hampton, N.Y.. She was the widow of Chauancy Matthews. She was a member of Otisville-Mount Hope, N.Y. Presbyterian Church. Survivors include one daughter, Irene Matthews Conklin of Otisville, N.Y.; three sisters, Beatrice Irving of Pine Bush, N.Y., Rose Palmer of Middletown, N.Y. and Ruth Menell of Bellmore, L.I.; one half-brother Charles Reed of Leominster, Mass.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several niecesand nephews. Friends may call from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. today at Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, 72 W. Main St., Middletown, N.Y.. Services will be at 1p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jeffrey Farley will officiate. Burial will be in Wallkill Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
