The following obit was found in the Watertown Daily Times' edition published on July 6, 1995: Former DPW Supervisor Claude Pecor Dies Claude R. Pecor, 96, formerly of 454 Mill St., retired supervisor for the Watertown Department of Public Works, died at 11:05 P.M. Wednesday at Mercy Center for Health Services. A prayer service will be at 11:30 A.M. Friday at Cummings Funeral Home with the Rev. Vincent T. Freeh, pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 425 Washington St. Surviving are a son, Paul L., Fort Pierce, Fla.; a daughter, Betty D. Stephens, Watertown; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. A son, Richard C., died Dec. 22, 1967. A grandson, Chuck Martuzas, a brother, Clarence, and two sisters, Loretta Herrick and Nellie O'Brien, died before him. Born Oct. 2, 1898, in Clayton, a son of Joseph S. and Josephine Carpenter Pecor, he graduated from Clayton High School and married Cecelia a. Leavery on Jan. 8, 1919, in St. Mary's Church, Clayton. Mrs. Pecor died July 29, 1981. The couple moved to Watertown in 1931.
