Item - I give to Elizebeth Ray one Shilling Starling Item - I give to Nathaniel Everit of Mereland one Shillng Starling Item - I give to Sary Faggin one Shilling Starling Item - I give my Lands and Plantation to Nathaniel Everitt of the parish of St. Andrewas in the Countey of Tyral and province of North Carolina which sd. Nathaniel Everitt was born att Kindreck Creek in the year one thousand Seven hundred and Seven and a plantation then belonging to Edward Mosley Esq. To be injoyed and possed by him and his hiersor asins forever with all my other Estate real and porsenel and do apint him the Sd. Nathaniel Everitt the hool and Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testement in witness hearof I have hear unto Set my hand and Seal this 2nd day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and forty nine. Everet and Ann Beckley subcribing evidances thereto & on motion of Nathaniel Everet Senr. who qualified as Executor to the sd. Des'd. will praying orders for Letters Tesramantory ordered that the Honorable Nathaniel Rice Esq. Secretary of his Deputy have notice thereof that Letters may issue according. This date was proven 15 February 1738 when Mr. Stevens Lee moved that Nathaniel Everet, Sr., be exempt from payinglevys and other public services. This is usually done at 50 years of age. We do not know where he was born, but have proof he moved to Morratock in 1683. Morratock was in Chowan Precinct (later County), North Carolina. The earliest recorded date of the activities of Nathaniel Everett was on 4 November 1713. Council Journal. Att. a Council holden at ye house of Capt. Thos. Lee in Chowan on Wed. ye 4th day of Nov. 1713. . . . Ordered that Nathaniel Everett, John Browning, Matthew Addams, and Henry Middleton or any three of them being first sworn thereto do appraise ye said estate (of) John Foster, deceased and make return thereof accordingly. Nathaniel Everett obtained two land grants on 19 January 1715/16; 460 acres in Chowan precinct joining Persimmon Swamp,Moratock swamp, and the mouth and meanders of Pessimon Branch; and 212 acres on the head on Coneby Creek. 9 Jan. 1716/17 Nathaniel EverettMorattoke in Chowan Prect. bought from Thomas Lee of Chowan Prect. and Mary the wife of Thomas Lee, the Relict of John Bailey, dec'd 450 acres between Conaby Creek, joining the land of White Marsh belonging to Edward Moseley, for 100 lbs. Wit: Zack Gerkin, Thomas Darnell, JohnAdderley. The following day, 10 Jan. 1716/17, Nathaniel Everett of Morattack in Chowan Prect. sold to Thomas Lee of Chowan Prect. for 120 lbs. sterling, the very same land. The 1717 Tax List of Chowan County, North Carolina, shows that name of Nathaniel Everett, 460 acres and two taxables. The court met on 21 July 1715 and "Ordered that Na. Everett be Overseer of the highway Morettock bridge to the Flat Swamp." Nathaniel Everett's name appears on a list of Jurymen in Chowan Precinct 1723. Tyrrell County, North Carolina was created in 1729 out of Chowan, Bertie, Currituck and Pasquotank Counties, with Columbia as the county seat. Nathaniel Everett's land fell into the new Tyrrell County. Nathaniel Everett was Executor of the Will of William Jordon, Tyrrell Co., July 4, 1732; probated November 2, 1732. 15 Aug. 1737 Thomas Lee in Tyrrell Precinct of Albemarle Co. sold to Nathaniel Everet for 31 lbs., 100 acres in Tyrrell Precinct, part of a tract adjoining a tract known as Mary Bowlers. . . . 15 ---- (torn) 1737, Nathaniel Everett, Sr., bought from Thomas Lee, a parcel of land, patent to William Downing bearing date of 30 March 1721 . . . Hewes Swamp. The following is an abstract of a memorandum written by Nathaniel Everett of Chowan County, N.C., 2 September 1720. Nathaniel Everitt of Morattock in Chowan,planter to Mary Everitt, 2 Sept. 1720 for the love and affection I bear my wife now dwelling with me at my Plantation in Morattock, acres (not given), being my Maner Plantation which I now dwell upon except the lands I hereafter dispose of and at the death of the sd. Mary the sd. land and Plantation to go to my son Nathaniel Everitt. I also give 100 acres, joining 2 swamps between Zachariah Girkin and Benjamin Blount to my eldest daughter Mary Everitt. I also give to my daughters Elizabeth Everitt and Sarah Everitt that land called Possimon Neck. To mywife Mary, all my personal estate for her life and at her death it isto be divided between my children above mentioned. Ack. by Rd. Swinson 4 Sept. 1720 before me Fred Jones, Ch. Just. Another document was made by Nathaniel Everett in Tyrrell County, N.C., 20 October 1744, andregistered 23 November 1744. Memorandum that on the twenty ninth day of October Anno Domini 1744, Nathaniel Everitt of Tyrrell County, planter, dwelling at Conniber Creek Swamp commonly called Morratock Swamp,who heretofore signed a deed of instrument of writing purporting a last will and testament or to that effect, dated September the second Anno Domino 1720 whereto were witnesses Benjamin Blount, Richard Swinsonand John Edwards. Entered on the land and plantation in the said instrument of writing mentioned by the name of his the said Nathaniel Everitt, manner plantation and where the said Nathaniel now dwelleth at this presents and being in quiet and peaceable possession of the same, he did deliver the like quiet and peaceable possession of the same, byturff and twigg unto Nathaniel Everet in the said instrument of writing mentioned which said Nathaniel last mentioned was born at Kendrick's Creek plantation then belonging to Edward Mosley Esq. but now in the tenure and occupation of Thomas Cooper, the said Nathaniel the elder being then tenant about thirty seven years past to the said Edward Mosley. To have and to hold the said manor Plantation in the said instrument of writing mentioned unto him the said Nathaniel Everet the younger, his heirs and assigns according as the same to mentioned in the said writing, the afore mentioned possession taken and delivered by turff and twigg unto the said Nathaniel the younger in presence of us.
