A Sam Skinner married Catherine Reid, widow were married on 4 Feb.1758 according to the Register of St. Philip's Parish, Charles Town,SC -- 1754-1810, edited by D.E.Huger and A.S.Salley, Jr/. USC Press.We hark back to this as Bouquet was in Charleston at this time andlater that year, in York PA, we have the baptismal record, from theLutheran Church, of Joseph Skinner son of Catherine and SamuelSkinnner. Sam is designated "A soldier of the King" and as such, ismentioned in the Bouquet papers as stationed in York. Catherine wasthe daughter of James Bullen and Mary Poinsett (m. 1 July 172?4)according to the Register of St. Philip's Parish, 1720-1758, edited byA.S.Salley, Jr., which also contains the record of the marriage ofCatherine Bullen to Wm Reid, 20 Nov. 1742. At the same time, there wasquite a number of Skinners in that area. It is possible Sam was a SCSkinner and not a NJ one1
