    OBITUARY.
    Mrs. Maria Douglas died at Forest City, S. D., of pneumonia, Feb. 21, 1903. She was born in St. Lawrence county, N. Y., in 1831 where she was married to Alexis Douglas in 1852. In 1859 they came to Reedeburg, making their home in this vicinity until 1882. They then moved to Sully county, Dakota. Mr. Donglas died soon after. Two children survive both living in Forest City. Two sisters are still living, Mrs. Mosher of North Dakota and Mrs. S. Knowles of Reedsburg. Also two brothers survive, D. T. Reed of Forest Gity, S. D., and Wm. Reed of the town of Excelsior.

    Douglas -Feb. 21 1903 at 7 a. m. of pueumonia, Mrs Maria Douglas of Forest City, So. Dak., in her 73rd year.
    The deceased was born in 1831in St Lawrence county New York, where she was married to Mr Alexis Douglas in 1852. Seven years later they moved to Reedsburg, Wis, thence coming to the vicinity of Lewiston, Sully Co.,S. D. in 1862, where they settled on a homestead, having been preceded by their only daughter, Mrs. H. E. Gates, and her husband. Shortly after coming to Lewiston Mr. Douglas died, since which time Mrs Douglas has made her home with her daughter, who came to Forest City in 1899.
    She leaves two children to mourn her loss, viz.: besides Mrs. Gates,
    Mr.Chas. E. Douglas, also of Forest City , and two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Mosher of North Dakota, Mrs. Knowles and Wm Reed of Reedsburg, Wis. and
    D. T. Reed of Forest City.
    Mrs. Douglas had been in feeble for about a year and took pneumonia a week before she died. Her end was calm and peaceful and expressive of a readiness to depart.
    The funeral service was held at the home of her daughter, on Sunday morning, conducted by Rev. Arnold of Gettysburg, and the remains were taken to Okoix>jo for a interment beside those of her husband.
