John Tregurtha Bone was an only child and musician. Catherine, his Mother, was a singer and taught John how to play the piano
and sing. When John arrived in America in 1910 with his parents he became a private music teacher, in fact, that is how he met his
wife, Marion - she was one of his pupils.
John was a very strict Englishman and made his son learn the piano. Marion was John's accompanist often while he would sing she
would play for him. John often travelled to Boston to direct choirs at churches there and at summer camps. Orange, Massachusetts
is located about 80 miles west of Boston so it was quite a trek in the 1930s.
It is believed that John travelled to France and England in 1923 (with his future wife) and some other family members - possibly
because they were performing there
