The striking new research laboratory tower built for S. C. Johnson & Son in 1950, Architect Frank Lloyd Wright (Life - Dec. 11, 1950) is the world's tallest cantilever structure. The 153 foot outer shell is of specially kilned brick bands and glittering pyrex glass tubing laid horizontally and chinked with synthetic rubber. Wright calls it a Heliolab. He designed also their very modern administration building (Life- May 8, 1939.)
