    Alexander, who became a priest, and suffered for his sympathies with the Rising of 1745. He was apprehended in Strathglass,
    and sent to the hulks on the Thames, where he died shortly after, on board a ship, on her way to Hanover, carrying a batch
    of Jacobite prisoners. Among them was an old and intimate friend of Alexander Cameron Father John Farquharson, in whose
    arms he died. He had been removed from his own wretched quarters by order of the Captain of the ship, through the influence
    of his old companion, in whose arms he breathed his last.
