Fellow of the Collegiate Church, Manchester.
Had three daughters, his co-heirs:
ELEANOR, m. first to Henry Hulton, esq. of Hulton Park, and secondly to Sir Ralph Assheton, bart.
CATHERINE, m. to Sir Thomas Grey Egerton, bart.
BEATRIX (d April 1755), m. to Samuel Egerton, esq. of Tatton Park (d 10 Feb 1780).
Manchester Cathedral is dedicated to St Mary, St Dennis and St George. It was built in 1421 and was known as the Collegiate Church until it became the cathedral in 1847.
(So it seems the IGI reference to his marriage being at Manchester Cathedral is technically wrong.)
See his bio at pp 203-5, Chetham Society's New Series, volume 21, 1891. "The Fellows of the Collegiate Church of Manchester, Part I" by Rev F R Raines, edited by Frank Renaud.
Not educ ated at Oxford, it seems.
