The Dwnns a powerful Carmarthenshire Family are said to be the first mentioned in connection to Muddlescwm in C1400, with reference to 'Carmarthenshire Historical Homes' By Francis Jones, 'Griffith Dwnn had taken part in the battle of Agincourt in 1415, and served as the High Sheriff of the County in 1432-35. Probably he owned Mudlescwm, since his son and heir Owen Dwnn was living there in 1436. Owen married Catherine daughter and heir of John Wogan of Picton Castle, one of Pembrokeshires most influential landowners. Their only son. Henry Dwnn, succeeded to the Picton Castle and Mudlescwm Estates.
The Estate (of Muddlescwm ) then passed through marriage to the Morgan Family.
