    III of Scotland , He apparently being in the disfavor of the English king
    William II Rufus rather nephew, brother or son of Robert de Comines is
    unknown to me, though He may (or not) be father of [this]
    John Comyn who died in or shortly after King Stephen took the throne in 1135 and married a daughter of Adam Giffard one of the daughters of Fonthill Giffard, Wilts. [either a son or nephew succeeded to the greater part of the manor with line ended with the death of a churchman Andrew Giffard who then divided the said manor in 1220 among four co?heirs these being William Comyn of Snitterfield, Warwick, Robert Mandeville , Robert Mauduit and William de Fortibus.]
