BLG 2001 re F...- Irvine of Kingcausie says he was son of Alexander 6th of Drum, but it was Alexander 5th of Drum who married Elizabeth Forbes, dau of 1st Lord Forbes, and BLG 2001 re Irvine of Kingcausie confirms that Alexander 5th of Drum was the father of Henry, ancestor of Irvines of Kingcausie.

"The Surnames of Scotland" by George Black, pub. 1946 gives the following under the name Collison: "May be 'son of Culla,' a diminutive of Nicholas. An old surname in Aberdeenshire, described in 1732 as "one of the chief surnames here of old" (View, p. 126). The same writer says that the Collisons of Auchinlaumes have been there for 15 generations (ibid., p. 265). They had their burial place in one of the two aisles of St. Nicholas Church, Aberdeen." Dr. Black then refers to various Collison/Colyson/Colleson/ Collisonne/Collesoune/etc. individuals known in the Aberdeen area during the 1400-1600's.
