John of Eyllesford died in 1396 and his widow Isabel [FitzRoger], who married Richard de la Mare, held the estate until her death in 1421. After Isabel's death it passed to John Milburne who died in 1436 leaving an infant son Simon; the manor was held after his death by his wife Elizabeth. Simon Milburne was seized of the estate at his death in 1522 when his heirs were the families of his 10 daughters. Burghill manor was later acquired by William Stanford on whose death before 1579 it passed to his grandson William.
