Had a daughter who married a Gordon of Beldornie.
His son Sir James became 2nd Baronet, since he and his father predeceased his grandfather the 1st Baronet. But he died young in 1647.
(The family record by Douglas Wimberley indicates that, because James was young when he died, he did not fully inherit the baronetcy. Other sources may therefore differ with our numbering of the Barts.)
... daughter Menzies, with whom he begat two sons; and dyed in July 1634 before his Grand father and was honourably interred in the Kirk of Essy 6th of August 1634.

Say son James [1st Bt.] b c 1560, First wife Ann MERCER [still alive in 1605] ? he would have been about 80 at death.
Son James MP, + 1633 in France b say 1585. Unknown 1st wife, m Helen URQUHART [if she was b 1618 then she was 15 when husband died!]
Son James b say 1610. I have est m 1630 to Margaret MENZIES. James + 1634 and she m Patrick, 6th Lord OLIPHANT. By the later she had an only daughter, Mgt b 1638-9. Patrick O remarried in c Dec 1643, I assume Mgt MENZIES had died.
James GORDON & Mgt MENZIES had at least another James, 2nd Bt. dsp bef 1648.
