    James Somerville, younger of Drum and Cambusnethan, author of the Memorie of the Somervilles, married Nov 13 1651 at Lesmahago kirk Martha Bannantyne of Corehouse, he being 19, she 18. (?Domestic Annals of Scotland? www.electricscotland.com) [This James was son of James Somerville and Lilias Bannantyne, and grandson of Hugh Somerville and Heleana, dau of Lord Seaton].
    Presumably this was the James Somerville of Drums to whom the house and mains of the barony of Cambusnethan was disposed about 1649, and who disposed of them to Sir John Harper, advocate in 1661, who rebuilt the mansion house of Cambusnethan.
