Sir Ralph Bulmer died seised in 1558 of Basedale monastery or 'manor' (for the first time so-called), leaving eight daughters co-heirs, Joan, Frances, Millicent, Dorothy, Bridget, Barbara, Mary and Anne, the eldest Joan already married to Francis eldest son of Sir Richard Cholmley. Frances afterwards married Marmaduke Constable
His daughters and coheiresses were Anne Welbury, Frances Constable, Joan Cholmeley, and Millicent Grey.
Sir Ralph Bulmer died in 1558 leaving it to his three daughters:
Joan, wife of Francis Cholmeley.
Frances, who later married Marmaduke Constable of Cliffe.
Millicent, later wife of Thomas Grey.
In his will asked to be buried at St Botolph, Bishopsgate, London but was in fact buried at Wilton.

By the inq. e. si. of Sir Ralph Bulmer taken 7 October, 1558, Joan aged 24, wife of Francis Cholmley, Frances aged 19, and Millicent aged 17, were found to be his doughters and co-heirs.
These three daughters were found to be co-heirs of Sir Ralph Bulmer at his Inq. pm 7 Oct. 1558. In his Will he only mentions Millicent and Frances, who are the only ones recorded in Visitation of Yorkshire.
