A document records the 1337 sale of land in Kinoulton and Screveton, and the Manor of Woodborough from the time of the beginning of the Hundred Years? War. The Manor house was owned by Sir Paganus de Vilers and his wife Isabelle. Up till now, no one knew his wife?s name, and the Manor was thought to have been sold in 1336. It was sold to Sir Richard de Strelley and his wife Elena, and the Manor stayed in their family for many generations.
