Hugh Plessy was married firstly, as a child, before Oct 1249, to Isabel, third and youngest daughter and coheir of John Biset, by his wife Alice Basset. By this marriage he obtained the manor of Headington and property in Wich Malbank, Cheshire.
The manor of ?the Hundred without the North Gate? (of Oxford) had passed from Hugo de Plessets (lord in 1279), who held it in the right of his wife Isabel Bassett (descendant of Thomas Bassett to whom it had been given by King John), to John and William Byset, to Sir Richard d?Amory kt, to the Broomes. Christopher Broome of Halton [qv] and his son and heir George sold it in 1590 to the Citizens of Oxford.
