    Duncan Dundas of Newliston, mentioned 1453-84 (was dead by 1490). Allegedly Lord Lyon King of Arms 1450-71, which is wrong; was instead probably Lord Lyon Herald ca.1474. His wife is unknown, of children are known,

    James Dundas 11th Chief of Dundas of Dundas was granted a charter
    of the lands of Craigton, in the parish of Abercorn, about 1417,
    by William of Melgdrum, Laird of Clesch,to be held from the
    hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, under reversion. James Dundas
    gave Craigton to Duncan Dundas his son.
    Duncan Dundas who afterwards possessed Newliston, in the parish
    of Kirkliston, had an annual rent of 24 merks out of the lands
    and barony of Dundas. He was keeper of the castle of Restalrig
    and was employed in State negotiations between 1453 and 1484.
    He married (name unknown) and had two children,one son (name unknown)
    and Elizabeth Dundas who married John Maitland of Lethington.
    Duncan Dundas died before 1490.
