As early as 1428 the widow of Thomas Fraser of Cornton, who had married, as her second husband, James Skene of Skene, was bringing to him the yearly sum of %6 13 4 from the Crown for her interest in the lands of Cornton. It was presumably her son, also Thomas Fraser, who received &20 annually from 1435 to 1450 for the Crown?s possession. From 1451 until 1454 this payment was exchanged for the rents of Muckwale (Muchall) which had formed part of the estates of the Earldom of Mar.
