  • Name: Humphrey Galbraith
  • Prefix: Rev
  • Sex: M
  • Death: 1676
  • Occupation: Archdeacon of Clogher
  • Note:

According to Miss Trench the Manor of Corkey [Donegal] was obtained by one Humphrey Galbraith, descended from a wealthy Scot who had settled in Antrim at the end of the 16th Century. One of his sons [?] married a daughter of Sir Paul Gore of Magherabeg, Donegal Town, ancestor of the Lords Annandale the great proprietors of Banagh in the 17th/18th centuries. It is doubtful if all the Galbraiths of Co. Donegal are descendants of Humphrey as other Galbraiths in considerable numbers are thought to have been brought over towards the end of the 17th century by Scottish farmers.
A Humphrey Galbraith was admitted as Archdeacon of Clogher in April 1641.
