    In the early 1600s, he married Elizabeth Johnston, daughter of John Johnston of Caskieben. Their children included Alexander, the heir, John, and Margaret. This Margaret Bannerman was the grandmother of George Gordon, 1st Earl of Aberdeen, who was also the Chancellor of Scotland. Her son, Sir John Gordon, opposed the Covenanters, and in a mock trial, he was condemned to be executed in Edinburgh on 10 July 1644.
    In 1608, George Bannerman made over to his son, Alexander, all his lands in Ellon and elsewhere. He died in January, 1609. On 6th May, 1609, ...

    In 1606 Sir Walter Ogilvie of Finlater sold the fishing of the river Ythan to George Bannerman of Watertoun.
    Had a daughter Margaret Bannerman: BP1934 reports that in 1608 Margaret married John Gordon, younger of Haddo. TSP (Aberdeen) reports that that John's wife was Margaret, dau of George Bannerman of Waterton, who later married Sir WIlliam Keith of Ludquharn.
