Name: Elizabeth Wedderburn
Change Date: 30 OCT 2012
Elizabeth Wedderburn, their eldest daughter, is first named 24 May 1607, when George Campbell of Crunane or Crunan co. Forfar, discharges her father of the balance of 5,000 merks, the tocher promised by him on the marriage of his daughter Elizabeth with Crunane's eldest son Colin (S.W. 162). The dtae of the marriaeg contract is not given, but was, no doubt, shortly before her discharge. She thus married (i) Colin Campbell, who acquired the lands of Balgirsho, co. Forfar, but did not long survive. J. W. says there was no issue of the marriage, and this is probably correct. She married, (ii) about August 1612, Mr. Peter Bruce, principal of S. Leonard's College, S Andrew's. The marriage contract (BI. 24) is dated 17 Aug. 1612, and describes her as daughter to Kingennie and relict of Colin Campbell of Balgirsho.
