Agnes was both daughter Henry Hanbury Esq, and sister of Sir Henry Hanbury (dsp), according to the Visitation of Shropshire re Harpur. However Hanbury pedigrees do not make this possible, as the only Henry was son of Geoffrey. Even if that Henry had a son Henry not shown in Visitation, his sister would not be his heiress, as there was a least on brother.
Henry Hanbury Esq.
Father of Sir Henry Hambury, of ?Knyghtesfeldes in Hambury parish beside Tuttebury?.
Hanbury is 2.5m from Tutbury.
The family of Hanbury of Church Langton, Leics, derive their name from the village of Hanbury, co Stafford, where at a very early period they were lords of the manor.
Sir Henry de Hanbury, Knt. and Isabel his wife, dau of Henry de Hounhill, were living there in 1302; and on their tomb were these arms, ? Azure, a chevron or, in a chief a lion passant. Wm. de Hanbury was living 1328 ; and Henry, son of Reginald de Hanbury, and Joan his wife, in 1358.
Agnes Hanbury subsequently brought this manor in marriage to Wm. Bowles, of Rushall.
