Elizabeth?s father bought the manor of Mapledurham, Buriton, Hants, in 1533.
Behind the effigy of Alice Shelley kneel 7 daughters; the foremost wears a robe, wimple and veil, and holds a book (possibly a widow); the others have long dresses, short sleeves (above the elbow), 'Paris' cap with veil".

Elizabeth, widow of sir Roger Copley of Gatton, co. Surrey, who died in 1559, and daughter of sir William Shelley, justice of the common pleas. On an inquisition taken 29 April, 1560, she was found to have died seised of the manor of the Maze in Southwark (see the Collectanea Topogr. et Geneal. vol. viii. p. 255).
