(The History of Thurlaston, Leicestershire, Including Normanton Turville, New ... By John Ordish Hulme. 1904. p104.)
A portion of Thurlaston parish is called Normanton Turville after the family who resided in the manor there in Norman times. There are monuments in the church to the Turville family, the last of whom died in 1776.
Another area of Thurlaston which contained a moated manor at the time of Richard II is New Hall Park. At the present time there is a farmhouse on the site, and the surrounding farm is still known as New Hall Park just as the small area where the Turvilles lived, is still known as Normanton.
