?John Parkinson of Beaumont Hill, co Durham.? (Wycliffe pedigree)
This must mean the family of Perkinson of Beaumont Hill or Beaumondhill, whose pedigree is in ? Pedigrees recorded at the visitations of the county palatine... 1575?.
The only John of Beaumondhill in that pedigree is the one at the head of the pedigree, with no wife?s name given. In 1575 two of his great grandchildren are given as living, one having had 5 sets of children, the middle one being 13 in 1575.
The John Parkinson in this database?s great grandson Francis Wycliffe was living in 1579, so that makes sense.
    ---
John Perkinson was the Escheater of the County Palatine of Durham under Bishop Ruthall.  He is the first mentioned as proprietor of Beaumont Hill and Whessey. He lived to a great age.  In 1516 he surrendered lands in Beaumond Hill to Richard his son, and Arthur the son of Richard. To his second son John he left the adjoining estate of Whessey.  He had a third son James who was living (where I know not) and had issue in 1567.  He died June 6th 1519.  We will now speak of Beaumont Hill and Whessey which for several generations continued to be the residences of the distinct families of the above mentioned sons Richard and John.  We quote Hutchinson & Surtees.
