Edward le Despenser Knight, K.G. 4th Lord Despenser of Glamorgan and Morgannwg, Wales, son and heir was born at Essendine, Rutland, about 24 Mar. 1335/6 and was nephew and heir of Hugh le Despenser.
He was married before 2 Aug. 1354 to Elizabeth de Burghersh, dau and heiress of Bartholomew de Burghersh of Ewyas Lacy, co. Hereford, Stert and Colerne, Co. Wilts. 4th Lord
Burghersh by his first wife Cecliy, daughter of Richard de Weyland, Knight.
She was born in 1342 (age 27 at her father's death)
He accompanied the Prince of Wales to Gascony in Sep. 1355.
He was summoned to Parliament from 15 Dec. 1357 by writs directed Edwardo le Despenser, whereby he is held to have become Lord le Despenser. He was with the King in the invasion of France, Oct. 1359 to 1360.
Edward le Despenser, lord of Glowmorg died testate age 39 at Llanbethian, Co. Glamorgan on 11 Nov. 1375.
Elizabeth de Burghersh, Dame le Despenser died testate about 26 Jul 1409. They were buried at Tewkesbury Abbey.
