Sir Thomas Ferrers, who succeeded to the honour and castle of Tamworth. Sir Thomas was the second son of William de Ferrers, 5th Baron of Ferrers of Groby. On his father?s death in 1445, Sir Thomas became heir male of the Ferrers of Groby, and on the death of Sir Edmund Ferrers of Chartley in 1450 heir male of the house of Ferrers. He made Tamworth castle his principal residence and was Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1447 and 1448.
Lady Ferrers died in 1452, and Sir Thomas survived her till 1459 and was then succeeded by his son Sir Thomas Ferrers.
