Created Bt of Nova Scotia 13 Dec 1627.
Created Baronet with remainder to his heirs male whatsoever. The Russell family later investigated making a claim to the baronetcy though their descent from this Colin?s grandaughter.
On 15 May 1619 he was served heir to his father.
Before 1648 he sold the estate of Lundie to another Campbell.
Many sources give him as son, not grandson, of 6th Earl of Argyll. However Burkes Landed Gentry Scotland 2001 re Argyll has him as grandson, as shown here.
The name of Sir Colin Campbell of Lundy is found in the muster roll of the Scottish company of a hundred men of arms commanded by the Marquis of Huntly in France, 29th Oct. 1633.
Colin Campbell, 1st Baronet (b. 1599) was the only son of the younger son of the 6th Earl.
(Wikipedia). Seems in fact he had an elder brother.
