Lived in a rooming house and worked in a nut factory in the Belding area at 15 years old. Married at 16. One story in our family is that Dora's mother died shortly after giving birth to son Lester. We have one picture of Cynthia with a small child on the bed with her. Dora also believed her mother to be of Native American descent but was unsure of which tribe. After the death of her mother, Dora was shipped around to various relatives and lived with her sister Hazel for part of her youth. --Laura Bryan
