J. B. Brown, North Henderson, died at the Cottage hospital, Galesburg, at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, after a short illness. He became suddenly ill the preceeding Sunday afternoon death coming from obstruction of the intestines.
Mr. Brown was born May 20, 1871, in Warren County. He was the son of John B. and Lydia Brown, both of whom have preceeded him in death. For some time he had farmed in Mercer county. He was united in marriage with Edith Wixson July 22, 1891. He leaves his wife and two children; Helen and Frank at home and a half-sister, Mrs. C. W. Edwards of Indianola, IA as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brown was a member of Rio lodge of Masons, the Blue lodge and Commandery No. 5 Knights Templar. He was also a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the home in North Henderson, with Rio lodge in charge of the rites. Burial was in the Mount Vernon cemetery at North Henderson.
