      Text: I believe this was the relative herein referred to:
      "... he finally consented (to accompany Lewis and Clark on their voyage to the interior), and accompanied the party during the first three months travel, but then declined going any further, and returned home. Shortly after this, he left again on a flatboat, and never reurned. He visited a relative named Philip Sikes, living about twenty miles in the interior from Natchez, and there made his home until the summer of 1808, when he died."
